The Adventure
A Wildflower Week in the Smokies
Spring turns Great Smoky Mountains National Park into one of the most biodiverse trails in the country, and this trek walks youth right through the bloom of trillium, lady slippers, and flame azalea. The group day-hikes classic Smokies routes and sections of the AT along the Tennessee-North Carolina crest, chasing waterfalls swollen with snowmelt and misty morning ridgelines. It's a slower, closer-look adventure where the mountain reveals itself in small, living detail.
A Day Here
Misty Mornings and Blooming Trails
Each morning opens with breakfast at basecamp and a short lesson on the wildflowers, birds, and salamanders the group is likely to spot that day. Hikes range from gentle creekside walks to a steady climb up to an AT overlook, with a guide pointing out plants and pausing for photos and journaling. Afternoons bring a swim break at a mountain stream or a visit to a cascading waterfall before the group heads back to camp for dinner and a talk under the trees.
All Included
Guides, Gear, Meals, and a Basecamp
Trips run from a comfortable basecamp in the Smokies, with tent camping and all camp gear, day packs, and rain shells provided for the frequent spring showers. Certified naturalist guides lead every hike, and all meals, snacks, and round-trip transport from our meeting point are included. Parents pack sturdy shoes and layers for cool mornings and warm afternoons; we cover the tents, the trail food, and the field guides.
Safe & For Whom
An Easygoing Start for youth and young adults
This is our most accessible trip and a great first adventure, with wilderness-first-aid-certified guides, small groups, and a low camper-to-guide ratio on every trail. Hikes are day trips out of one basecamp, so youth 13 to 18 of most fitness levels can join without carrying a heavy pack overnight. First-timers and cautious hikers are genuinely welcome, and guides set an unhurried pace with plenty of stops, keeping the focus on discovery, curiosity, and confidence.
